Making the assumption that all people who claim to be a Christian are a Christian is a grievous mistake . People caught up in a false belief, a cult, perhaps did enter into it not fully understanding it is a cult. Do these people have the Holy Spirit before entering, receive the spirit after entering or when they finally realize they are in a cult and leave ? To assume that leaving a cult brings the gift of the Holy Spirit is a mistake. The trauma is real but the sign to confirm the presence of the spirit is to follow the instructions in Acts 2:38 and with the spirit of GOD overcome the trauma. Are we able to do more than GOD can ? Jesus said that without him we can do nothing. Jesus is our connection to GOD and a person who has the Holy Spirit has this connection and without this connection we can do nothing. John 15:5
To assume all have the spirit is to expect something from a person they do not have. When we carefully consider this it is actually a cruel thing, if we think a person has the spirit, then try to comfort them, while the person is unconverted, they feel even worse as they may think GOD has abandoned them when they never had GOD to begin with. This is true when leaving any organization that is a cult. People that just can’t get over the cult experience is an indication that they have no help from the helper, the Holy Spirit . If we think that just coming out of a cult is some kind of proof of having the Holy Spirit this is an error. Many have come out of various cults only to join another cult.
A cult is always under the leadership of men. True Christianity is under the leadership of GOD and Christ, there is no man. 1 John 2:27 GOD alone makes the decision who is in HIS church. No one can make the decision to join HIS church, GOD must put you in. Acts 2:39,47 Scripture declares that there are very few that experience the true calling and choosing of GOD. Matthew 7:14 The vast majority of those who claim to be Christians are not Christians. Without GODS spirit we have no spiritual weapons to use in the spiritual warfare we engage in, we are unarmed. 2 Corinthians 10:4 This is why the people who have come out of a cult, devastated by the experience, crippled by it, never recover from it. Having compassion for them is good but you cannot heal them, that’s GODS territory. All things are only possible when we are with GOD. If we are not with GOD then they are not. Being led out of a cult is an opportunity for conversion not conversion itself. Then again, many are called but few are chosen. People are led astray by Satan not GOD. Straying into a cult is of Satan but coming out of the cult is not always GODS doing. People entering a cult are unconverted, while in a cult it is impossible to be converted and when leaving a cult it is not always GODS doing but if it is then we will need to be converted because we are fresh out of a cult, we need to obey, Acts 2:38 , then we will be Converted. Cults are synagogues of Satan, when in them we eat and drink at the table of demons. What would this mean then about the baptism the cult performed on us ? Do you think it would be valid ? 2 Corinthians 6:14,15,16 This article exposes these deeds of darkness. Ephesians 5:11 The scriptures given here speak for themselves.
