Things to think about.
If you believe that the scriptures are inspired by GOD then you must agree and believe what they say.
In Genesis 1:3 GOD said, “Let there be light.”
Now, this light cannot be the sun because the sun wasn’t created until the 4th day as is plainly stated in Genesis 1:14-19 you must accept this as fact. What this means is that the Earth is older than the rest of the universe. It also means that time itself didn’t exist until the 4th day because everything we use to measure time didn’t exist until the 4th day. These are recorded facts in the scriptures.
In the creation of Adam GOD first made Adams body from the dust of the ground but until the breath of life entered Adams body he was not yet a soul. Genesis 2:7 explains how and in what order Adam was created. Notice that Adam was composed of only 2 parts, dust and breath. This is what a human being is, there is no third part. Therefore a soul is a person, a complete person and therefore is not immortal because you and I are just like Adam, a living breathing creature man or animal. Look up the word soul in a Strongs Concordance, it’s article H5315 it is the Hebrew word “nephesh”. This means that both humans and animals have the same life in them, the same breath of life. These are biblical facts that if you believe the scriptures are of GOD you must believe. These facts go against what most of Christianity currently believes. This means that the majority of current Christianity is wrong in the understanding of the scriptures. Often in the New Covenant scriptures the word soul is incorrectly translated to mean a third part of a person but according to the scripture in Genesis this is incorrect. The error stems from translating from Hebrew to Greek then to English. As the saying goes something was lost in the translation.
Notice it is the BREATH OF LIFE that entered Adam that made Adam a living breathing creature. We humans breath in order to live must breathe and if we are not breathing we are not living, we are dead. The breath of life from GOD was designed by GOD to give us life, we must breath to be alive. This means that when we are dead we are not alive. The misunderstanding of people existing instantly after death without a body simply cannot be true. There are many other scriptures that describe what death is and that there is no life after we die. We enter a state of total unconsciousness, we know nothing, experience nothing. Scripture teaches us that death is the exact opposite of life. The breath of life needs a body with lungs, heart and blood in order to live. The breath and body are mutually dependent on each other to be alive. To not believe this is calling the scriptures false and GOD a liar. Because of all the false beliefs in the churches the idea of instant life after death has become so ingrained in people that they have a very difficult time understanding the truth. Everyone has a choice, believe what men tell you or what GOD tells you in the scripture.
The body of Adam could do nothing until the breath of life entered him. The body by itself has no life at all. The breath of life is the life, not the body. A human being is a human spirit in a fleshly body. Everything about you, your memories, experiences and feelings are all in that breath of life, the human spirit. The brain is only an interface between your human spirit and your body.
Even Jesus said, “It is the spirit that gives life the flesh profits nothing.” John 6:63
In the resurrection at the last day, when Jesus Christ returns, the saints receive a spirit body that makes them immortal. So then,
“if this fleshly body is destroyed we have another body from GOD an everlasting body not made by human hands.” This is verified in 2 Corinthians 5:1

We will never be immortal until we have this spirit body. Again, at death we are totally unconscious and can do nothing and remain in this state until Jesus returns and we receive our spirit body. What this means is that the popular belief in instant life after death in heaven or hell is not true and goes against the teachings of the scriptures.
