Is it possible for the elect of GOD to be angry in opposition to a lie being sown by someone in their fellowship ? Did Jesus ever become angry and say things that offended people ? Yes he did. Should GODS elect apologize to a deceived person who has embraced a lie and refuses to listen to the more mature elect ? No. Should the elect try to correct the one deceived irrespective of the manner of delivery ? Yes. Should we, the saints of GOD, ever apologize for speaking the truth no matter how we do it ? No. Is there such a thing as righteous anger or indignation ? You bet there is. Did the Apostle Paul or Jesus ever apologize for saying the truth under any circumstances ? No they did not.
Below are a few scriptures that should convince you that there is such a thing as righteous anger.
2 Corinthians 11:1-4 & 13-15 Mark 3:5 John 2:13-17
Matthew 21:12-13 Mark 10:14 Matthew 23:13-36
Galatians 1:8-9 & 2:11-14
Even though none of the elect today are Apostles we too can be angry at a new person, who was invited to join our fellowship, for continuing to preach a lie to the brethren, especially when they will not respond to a peaceful attempt to correct them.
Titus 3:10 “Reject a divisive man after the first and second warning.”
Things can become heated when the liar refuses to hear and continues in their lie. Yes, voices are raised in anger over this type of situation. We do not apologize for it, neither did Jesus or Paul. Anyone who is telling a lie is a liar and I know this sounds harsh but it is necessary to combat the lie by confronting the liar. The lies told by liars are from the father of lies who is able to pollute the thoughts of the people who repeat his lies. This is the modern day false Christian ministries as well as the ignorant potential babes in Christ who are yet exposed to and highly susceptible to Satanic deception. In the first century church a novice or babe was not allowed in the ministry for this reason. 1 Timothy 3:2-7 Most of Paul’s righteous anger was with babes whom he referred to as carnal. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
1 Corinthians 3:1-3
I can imagine Paul being livid on a number of occasions when faced with carnal minded babes spreading lies in the church. 1 Corinthians 5:3-5 Timothy 2:16-20 These types of things are what eventually led to the take over of the church by pagans. John had a rouge minister named Diotrephes, 3 John 1:9-11, that embraced lies and cast true saints out of the church.
Also you should see that even the church saints who had no office in the church were instructed to cast out someone who was telling lies or committing unrepentant sins.
We do not cast out the person trying to introduce a lie on the first event but if the person voluntarily leaves our fellowship then that was their choice. If in the future if GOD grants him repentance and he humbles himself and desires to return to fellowship he would be welcomed.
