1 Corinthians 13:1-13 is called the love chapter.
If there is a problem existing in the elect saints it would be the lack of projecting this love outward to other people besides ourselves. The elect do have spiritual knowledge taught to them by GOD through Jesus, they have a certain amount of knowledge about prophecy and we have faith in the gospel message but all these things become meaningless unless we also submit to GODS love. Jesus said, “love your neighbor as yourself”, he didn’t say who your neighbor was because it is all people.
We elect do not go out trying to find people to show love to, this is our works, which are filthy rags to GOD. Isaiah 64:6 The opportunity to show GODS love to the carnal world is unplanned by us. It will come to us unannounced and in that way there is no time for our plans. At these unannounced times we submit to GODS plans to deal with the carnal world with HIS love. This makes it GODS works, not ours. The spirit of GOD is to lead us, we do not lead ourselves.
Romans 8:14 “For those who are led by the spirit of GOD are the children of GOD.”
Failure to apply GODS love is sin because HIS love fulfills the intent of the Ten Commandments. Therefore, whatever is not of GODS love is sin.
GOD does not in any way tempt us, HE does not “lead us into temptation” as the model prayer in Matthew 6:13 says due to improper translation. It should say, “and let us not be lead into temptation.”
James 1:13 “When tempted no one one should say, GOD is tempting me, for GOD cannot be tempted with evil nor does HE tempt anyone.
Lamentations 3:33 “For GOD does not afflict willingly or grieve mankind.”
Jesus Christ was exactly like his GOD and FATHER because he could not be tempted by evil either. Jesus, in this way and because he had the same love as his GOD and FATHER was the image of the invisible GOD, Jesus was the radiance of GODS glory and an exact representation of GODS character. Hebrews 2:3 Many confuse these verses to mean Jesus is GOD, the second member of a trinity, when they are actually teaching us that GOD created HIS son to be exactly like HIMSELF in righteousness, love and the inability to be tempted with evil or to sin. GOD had to do this because HE demanded that if a man (Adam) brought sin into the world then a man must be the vehicle of salvation for all mankind.
This demonstrates GODS love and the willingness of Jesus to love and submit to his GOD and suffer and die in order to provide the hope of salvation to humanity whom both GOD and Jesus loved.
GODLY love is the power that accomplishes all things and therefore it behooves us, obligates us, to love GOD, love Christ, love the brethren and love our neighbors as ourselves. This is why love is the greatest of all. This love working in GODS saints is what guarantees us entry into the kingdom of GOD.
