REVELATION CHAPTER 13

 Revelation Chapter 13                                                                                                                        

         

 “Then I stood upon the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast rising up out of the sea having 7 heads and 10 horns, and on his horns 10 crowns and on his heads a blasphemous name.” Revelation 13:1

In scripture a beast is symbolized of a nation. The book of the prophet Daniel uses the same symbolism. The rising up out of the sea. Rising up means means a nation’s beginning and the sea symbolizes peoples, languages and nations. This nation that rises is populated by people of different languages from various nations of the earth. The 10 horns are the 10 toes of the image in Daniel 2:31-35

 

 

  The 7 heads are are revealed to be 7 mountains, Revelation 17:9.   Later on we discovered that a harlot sits on these seven mountains where are many waters, or a mix of people.  This harlot is the capital city of the beast nation because she is described as sitting on the beast which indicates she controls the beast. 

 

                                        

 Revelation 17:18 tells us the harlot, THIS GREAT CITY, reigns over the kings of the earth, those 10 kings with the crowns on their heads. Revelation 17:11-13   This harlot city of the beast nation is THE GREAT CITY where Jesus was crucified. Referring to Jerusalem.  Jeremiah the prophet says,  Jeremiah 22:8-9 "This great city".   Revelation 11:8   The biblical figure of the man of sin or the antichrist will rule from Jerusalem during the seven year period in which he revives the old covenant and makes an image of Solomon's Israel. 

 

                                         

  He rebuilds the temple and reaffirms the law,

 

                                        

 has a false Elijah the prophet who calls fire down from heaven to burn up the sacrifices on the altar during all the holy days of Israel. 

 

                                                

 

The 2 witnesses will be killed in Jerusalem, the harlot city.  

 

                                      

 In the future the modern day nation of Israel that is populated by Israelites from various nations speaking different languages, rose up out of the sea of humanity.  This nation out of the sea, "was, is not and yet is.." Revelation 17:8, it is a nation that once existed but totally disappeared only to appear again.  Modern day Israel is the only nation to ever do this.   Because Israel rejected their messiah and murdered him the mountains she sets on have a blasphemous name.  Anyone who does not believe that Jesus is the messiah and son of GOD is antichrist,  1 John 4:3  2 John 1:7

Scripture mentions one of the heads (mountains) of the beast is inflicted with a deadly wound.   

                                     

 Wounded by the sword (war) and did live. Revelation 13:14

 The wounded mountain is Mount Moriah where the second temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. 

 

  Revelation 13:3  This deadly wound of the mountain, the destroyed temple, is healed by the construction of the third temple and this will amaze and marvel the people. 

            

The image of the beast, Revelation 13:14-15 or Israel is after the glory days of King Solomon who every year received a total weight in gold of, 666 talents, 3.65 billion dollars. 1 Kings 10:14

                                      

This very thing is what the disciples of Jesus were expecting.  Acts 1:6  "Will you at this time restore the Kingdom unto Israel ?"   This is why the number of the beast is the number of a man that he makes an image of, King Solomon and the glory of his Kingdom.   For the first 3 1/2 years of the 7 year covenant Israel becomes a very rich and powerful nation and most of the world follows after its leader,

   the antichrist                       

After the 3 1/2 years the man of sin, the antichrist, breaks the covenant and proclaims himself GOD. 

2 Thessalonians 2:4 "He as GOD sits in the temple of GOD, showing himself as GOD"

 This begins the time of Jacobs (Israels) trouble, the great tribulation, because the people of Israel have always know that GOD has never been a man.    This tribulation will be cut short for the sake of the elect saints of GOD.  Matthew 24:22   Christ will return and stop it.   

The days given by Daniel and Revelation confirm the mid point of the tribulation is 1260 days but at 1335 days Jesus returns.  Daniel 12:12 “Blessed is he who waits and comes to the 1335 days”  then there is the 1290 days when the abomination of desolation is set up,  Daniel 12:11.  The Hebrew year has 30 day months times 12= 360 days times the full 7 years of the covenant = 2520 days cut short by 220 days is 2300 days, the final number of days in Daniel 8:14

These dates do not reveal any exact day and hour but when the AC covenant is made it will begin the clock ticking to the countdown of the end of the age.

                              

 The saints will know that at some point in the  2300 days Jesus will return.  Certainly, when the two witnesses are killed in Jerusalem it will be 3 1/2 days till Jesus returns because the witnesses are resurrected and rise into the air.  Revelation 11:11-12  "Come up here, and they went up to heaven in a cloud."

All the saints will be raised from the dead but a small remnant yet alive will ascend up to meet Jesus in the air.  1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
