THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

A topic has recently been discussed on a Christian forum that I am a member of; the unpardonable sin.

There are several scriptures that talk about this;

Matthew 12:31 Mark 3:28:30   Luke 12:10   Hebrews 10:26,27,28,29   Hebrews 6:4,5,6   1 John 5:16

This unpardonable sin can only be committed by people who have the Holy Spirit as Hebrews 10:26 says “after we have received the knowledge of the truth” ,   and Hebrews 6:4 “those who have once been enlightened, who have SHARED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, who have tasted the good word of GOD and the powers of the age to come”.

It is the truth that GOD through HIS son has provided for 2 resurrections of the dead.  The just and the unjust.  Now the the just are the saints who have been Justified but the unjust are unconverted people who never had the Holy Spirit.  The incorrigible, those who committed the unpardonable sin, did have the Holy Spirit and were justified but blasphemed the spirit.  In this situation the blood of Christ will not apply.  Hebrews 10:26 “there remains no more sacrifice for sin”.  Hebrews 10:29 explains why this is. “they trample underfoot the son of GOD,, profaned the blood of the new covenant that sanctified them and insulted the Holy Spirit of grace”.   Hebrews 6:6  “to their loss they are crucifying the son of GOD again and subjecting him to public shame”.

Yes, GOD will not permit the blood of HIS son to be wasted on anyone that commits the unpardonable sin.

It is not only in this age that we live in now where this truth applies but also in the age to come.  In the second resurrection everyone that never had the Holy Spirit is raised from the dead in physical form and will have the Holy Spirit, those who blaspheme the spirit at that time will be cast into the lake of fire, the second death.

The death Jesus saves us from is the second death not the first death.  We all die simply because we are mortal, it has been appointed for men to die once but after this there are two resurrections, the just, the church to immortality and the second all unconverted people that have ever lived. Hebrews 9:27

If it were not for Christ this first death would have been everlasting death but Jesus provided 2 resurrections separated by 1,000 years.  Revelation 20:4,5,6   Only the saints will be in the first resurrection unless one commits the unpardonable sin, then they are disqualified for any resurrection.  The second resurrection is all people that have died that were never converted, did not have the Holy Spirit.  These people will at that time all have the Holy Spirit and the second death still is a threat to them.  At this time the church, the elect saints, will have been glorified 1,000 years before.  In this time if anyone commits the unpardonable sin they will be cast into the lake of fire, the second death.

To summarize: there are 3 different classifications of people; the just, the unjust and the incorrigible who commit the unpardonable sin.  The just and unjust are guaranteed a resurrection because of the sacrifice of Jesus.  The incorrigible have no more sacrifice, no resurrection, when they die they die forever.

Scripture says that the saints were bought with a price, the life of the righteous son of GOD.  Open, deliberate, willingly and knowingly rebellion against the gift of the Holy Spirit is blasphemy and in GODS judgment worthy of everlasting death.
