Hello there, I am the Ten Commandments, you know the law, the stone tablets written on with the finger of the arch angel Michael. I am the heart and core of what is called the old covenant. I thought that I would ask Lee if I could post an article here on his blog and he very graciously said yes.
Now many of you out there have different ideas about me, some say I am abolished, some say they must keep me so in order to clear up this confusion I have come forward to tell you about myself. First of all I only list ten things that are sin if you violate them but I say nothing about the punishment for violating them, that is in the book of the law of Moses, you know him, the guy who carried me down from the mountain. Now the first time Moses brought me down from the mountain he busted me to smithereens because Israel was worshiping a golden calf so Moses had to go back up the mountain and get another copy of me that was exactly the same as the first. Anyway, for the people that think I have been abolished, why do you say that, Jesus told you plainly in Matthew 5:17 that every jot and tittle of me is still here. Then for you who think you have to keep me I have big news for you, YOU CAN’T. What is wrong with you people , it seems that you can’t get anything right. Look, everybody sins right, and because of sin everybody dies, you get that ? I don’t offer everlasting life and I won’t forgive you if you break me, I have absolutely no mercy. If you break me you die, period. What is so difficult about that ? This is one of the reasons GOD gave me to you, to show you that you all are hopelessly trapped in sin and the only way out is Jesus. I’m not bad or evil, I am holy, just and good because GOD ordained that sinners should die and that’s what I do, I kill all of you so that you can hopefully see this and repent, which is another thing I won’t let you do. If you put yourself under me you are dead, I will have no mercy, no forgiveness, you can’t repent and I don’t give life but I do bring death. Why do you drag me into the new covenant when I AM THE OLD COVENANT !!! What are you thinking ? Yes, I do have the ability to deter people from sinning outwardly because they fear being put to death but the inner person I can’t touch at all. So even if you don’t actually say or do anything that can be seen and testified to by witnesses if you think it your still dead. My last command, the 10th for you who don’t know, says, “Thou shalt not covet or lust”. This means that if you even think of sinning you have sinned. Jesus brought this out in Matthew 5:28 and all my commandments can be broken in the same way. Furthermore, if you just break one of my commandments you are guilty of breaking them all. Trying to keep me is a lose lose situation, you can’t win. The only hope you have is the new covenant which gives you a much better deal than I will. This should be falling off a log simple, life or death, the new covenant gives life but me, the old covenant kills you, take your pick.
Many of you don’t realize that I am a direct result of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit. The knowledge of sin, of good and evil was later on through Moses written on tables of stone, yes it was me, the ministry of death. Don’t you know that Satan wants you to be under me because I kill you and Satan knows that, this is why he blinds your eyes from understanding the gospel Jesus and the Apostles preached. There are only two ways that GOD Will judge you, either by me or by grace, that’s it. Jesus gave you two great commandments of love toward GOD and your neighbor and GOD gives you HIS GODLY love by HIS Holy Spirit so that you can actually fulfill what I was only a shadow of. Jesus didn’t fulfill the law by keeping me, he fulfilled me with his FATHERS love, love is the fulfillment of me people, I don’t fulfill anything, I just kill you if your not in Christ. The problem in all of this isn’t me, like I said, I am holy, just and good, the problem is that your not, your the problem not me. In reality I am your teacher, your schoolmaster, and I show you plainly that you need Jesus. The FATHER draws you to Jesus by using me, I teach you this but your not hearing me.
Well, I could go on and on about this but you know, you have been given the scriptures, the prophets, Jesus and the Apostles but after all this you still don’t get it. Well I tried and so with that I will go back into the ark and wait for GOD to straighten things out. So this is the Ten Commandments saying good bye until then.
