GOD WAS LOOKING FOR A MAN TO STAND IN THE GAP BUT FOUND NONE SO HE CREATED ONE

 

In the book of Ezekiel 22:30  YAHWEH is looking for someone to stand in the gap for the land, to prevent its destruction.  HE searches for a person who will “build up the wall” and “stand in the breach” before HIM, but HE finds no one.  YAHWEH is searching for a mediator between HIMSELF and humanity to avert a coming judgment.  This is showing YAHWEHS desire for repentance and restoration rather than destruction to demonstrate HIS mercy.  This verse concludes with sadness and disappointment because no one was righteous enough to fulfill the role of intercession and leadership.  

Many think this verse is just about carnal Israel but in reality it is about spiritual Israel, the church.  Many also falsely believe that YAHWEH became a man to fulfill what no human being could.  YAHWEH demands that because one human man, Adam, brought sin and death into the world that another man, another human being, would have to be the righteous intercessor and mediator.  Since YAHWEH found no one HE was compelled to create one.  YAHWEH created HIS own son in the womb of a young girl named Mary.  This child, born of a virgin, and YAHWEHS son, was separate from Adams descendants but yet fully human.  In this way the son of YAHWEH would not have the Adamic sin upon him.  YAHWEH created the human spirit of HIS son after HIS own image and according to HIS own likeness so that in agape and righteousness HIS son would be an exact copy of YAHWEHS character.  Hebrews 1:3  “The express image of HIS person”  The Greek phrase “express image” is Strongs Concordance article G5481 “charakter”  meaning an exact copy of YAHWEHS character of agape and righteousness.  Jesus Christ could not sin anymore than YAHWEH could.  Jesus Christ could not be tempted to do evil anymore than YAHWEH could.  This was the fulfillment of the symbolism of the Passover lamb.  Exodus 12:5,6,46   Numbers 9:12   What Jesus Christ was while a human being on earth spiritually is what we are to become in the resurrection.  What Jesus needed was a spirit body that he did receive after he ascended so that he could enter into the presence of his GOD because flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of GOD. 

Jesus Christ was created righteous and agape, we were not, we need to be recreated in the image of Jesus who was created in the image of his GOD and FATHER.  Jesus Christ was the only being, angelic or human to be created righteous and agape because both angels and humans had the potential to sin.  A third of the angels did sin and all of humanity has sinned but Jesus Christ, the son of the living GOD was just like his FATHER, incapable of sin.  

There are other sections of scripture that seem to apply to ancient carnal Israel but they also have a future understanding for the church because the prophets were speaking to the church.  1 Peter 1:10,11,12
